Come out early and visit the Old Jail Museum in Palo Pinto just off Highway 180 West. Take a walk through history as The Old Jail Museum is open all day Saturday and has beautiful historic buildings and is full of information sure to answer all the questions you might have about life in the Old West Palo Pinto County.

July 19, 2008 — Lake Mineral Wells SP & Trailway — Spider Walk — Join Park Interpreter, David Owens, at the Amphitheater to learn the importance of spiders in the wild. We'll show slides and talk about the different types of spiders, then focus on the wolf spiders. Afterward, we'll take a walk down the trailway with flashlights watching for the eye shine reflection of the park's wolf spiders. Accessible for the mobility impaired. 8:30-10 p.m. (940) 328-1171
Activities: Activities include camping; lake swimming (unsupervised); fishing; boating (boat, canoe, paddleboat rental - no skiing, jet skis, or tubing permitted); rock climbing (climbers and rappelers must check in at headquarters); mountain biking; equestrian camping, horseback riding (visitors must provide their own horses); and hiking. Note: Trails may be closed during wet weather. Climbing is prohibited when the rock formations are wet (Call the park to verify climbing area is open, if it has rained in the last 48 hours of your planed arrival.)
